The Pain Advisory Board brings together experts in the areas of chronic pain neuropharmacology, pain psychophysics, and analgesic drug development. This board has diverse duties, from the design and execution of preclinical studies to assisting us in the design of our clinical trials.

Randall Carpenter, M.D. - Chairman
Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer – Seaside Therapeutics

Dr. Carpenter joined Seaside Therapeutics from Sention where he was President and CEO from September 2001 through April 2005. Previously, Dr. Carpenter served as Vice President, Clinical Research & Development and Regulatory Affairs for Adolor Corporation where he built a clinical development group, managed three IND’s and guided drug development from first human exposure to initiation of Phase 3 trials. As Director, Clinical Research, Astra USA during 1997 and 1998, Dr. Carpenter was responsible for Anesthesia, Pain Management and Intensive Care Products. Dr. Carpenter is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management and practiced medicine for 15 years in academic institutions. He has published 65 original research articles and served as Editor-in-Chief and on the editorial boards of several journals.
